Humanitarian and flood crisis & Action taken by UNPKFC at Samut Prakan

organized a Humanitarian and Food relief aid for the victims and evacuees of the recent massive fire and explosions that destroyed the Mingdi Chemical Factory in Bang Phli district of Samut Prakan province on 5 July 2021.

UNPKFC and Team lead by Datuk. Dr. Aphinita​ Chaichana​, the president of UNPKFC with the collaboration from Mr. Sornpongsak Suwanaprung, the Consultant Inspector Office of the permanent secretary prime minister office and Pol. Col. Wirot Tadso, the Superintendent of Police for Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan distributed a total of 300 sets of foods, 600 packs of drinking water, cartons of assorted milk, and facial masks to ease the sufferings faced by these victims and evacuees.
During the Press Briefing held at the Bang Phli Police Department, Datuk Dr. Aphinita Chaichana announced that today’s initiative is part of our responsibilities as humanity and according to the objectives of UNPKFC as a Peace and Humanitarian Organization, to help the vulnerable, poor and victims of calamities. Therefore, today’s contribution is just a token of our intention to render help and we are here to assess the situation and immediate needs of these victims.
Dr. Lye Ket Yong, Deputy President of UNPKFC welcome the collaboration with Mr. Sornpongsak Suwanaprung, the Consultant Inspector Office of the permanent secretary prime minister office and Pol. Col. Wirot Tadso, the Superintendent of Police for Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan and appreciate the hard works and initiatives done for the Samut Prakan community. As a responsible Non-Governmental Organization, UNPKFC has the responsibilities to render all the help we can to alleviate the sufferings to the impacted victims and to raise their morale and provide encouragement to those affected.
UNPKFC and team was then escorted to visits and to distribute food and relief aid to the victims residing in temporary evacuation centers at Wat Bang Phli Yai Klang School and Auditorium, Bang Phli Yai sub-district Administrative Organization, Wat Bang Phli Yai Nai, and Bang Phli Hospital. On arrival at the Bang Phli Hospital, the team was greeted by Dr. Pichet Puapankitcharoen, the Director of Bang Phli Hospital who gave a warm welcome and briefing to the entire team. UNPKFC also visited the OTOP Bang Phli Center, which were under renovation for conversion into a Covid Field Hospital. We were told about this charitable public facility and noted that all the Hospital equipment and facilities are donated by a Philanthropist with many volunteers assembling and helping with the internal renovation, but it still not enough for the pandemic situation of the coronavirus that escalates further. Finally, the team also discussed possible future collaboration.
