Spreading the teachings of Buddhism in Canada is a challenge, as the country is a multicultural society characterized by a diversity of beliefs and ways of life. Creating a space where Buddhism can radiate wisdom and compassion requires sacrifice, respect for differences, and collaborative effort. This year’s World Vesak Day celebration stands as a significant milestone that affirms Buddhism not only remains vibrant in the Western world but also continues to serve as a spiritual anchor for communities throughout North America.
This event was honored by the presence of Buddhist monks and nuns from many countries, united in a shared demonstration of faith, compassion, and commitment to peace. Moreover, the event welcomed distinguished figures from around the globe, including diplomats, international organization leaders, and representatives of various faiths, who joined in solidarity to support this mission of peace. In addition, a large number of participants from government agencies, the private sector, and academic institutions—both domestic and international—attended the festival, reflecting a shared awareness of Buddhism’s role in promoting cross-cultural and interfaith harmony on a global stage.
Dr. Aphinita Chaichana was invited to deliver a keynote address as a special guest and was presented with the prestigious Humanitarian Award by the United Peace Keepers Federal Council (UNPKFC), presented by Venerable Tsengdok Rinpoche. This honor recognized her humanitarian contributions, promotion of Buddhism, and efforts to advance peace at the international level. The award ceremony, held officially during the event, reaffirmed her unwavering dedication to fostering peace and spiritual understanding worldwide.
In addition, Dr. Aphinita Chaichana was also awarded a Certificate of Honor along with the Dhamma Wheel Emblem, recognizing her as an outstanding Supporter of the Global Advancement of Buddhism. This award highlights her enduring commitment to sharing the Buddha’s teachings in multicultural societies and her tireless efforts to build bridges across religions, cultures, and nations in the pursuit of peace.
One of the most inspiring moments of the event was witnessing Buddhists from many nationalities gather under a shared aspiration, lighting candles for peace in a display of serene unity amidst diversity. This was not merely an annual celebration, but a historic step toward establishing Canada as a spiritual hub for Buddhists in North America. It demonstrated that despite differences in language and culture, the heart of Buddhism can connect people through universal truths.

ในโอกาสอันทรงเกียรตินี้ พระอาจารย์ Tsengdok Rinpoche ได้ดำรงตำแหน่งประธานในการจัดงาน วันวิสาขบูชาโลก และเทศกาลนานาชาติพุทธศาสนา ประจำปี 2025 (International Buddhist Festival 2025) ซึ่งนับเป็นเวทีสำคัญระดับโลกที่รวบรวมผู้นำทางจิตวิญญาณและนักสร้างสันติภาพจากหลากหลายศาสนาและวัฒนธรรม เพื่อร่วมแลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับสันติภาพ ความเมตตา และความเข้าใจระหว่างศาสนา
การเผยแผ่พระพุทธศาสนาในประเทศแคนาดานั้นไม่ใช่เรื่องง่าย เนื่องจากเป็นสังคมพหุวัฒนธรรมที่มีความหลากหลายทางความเชื่อและวิถีชีวิต การสร้างพื้นที่ให้พระพุทธศาสนาได้เปล่งแสงแห่งปัญญาและเมตตา จึงต้องอาศัยทั้งความเสียสละ ความเข้าใจในความต่าง และพลังแห่งความร่วมมือจากทุกฝ่าย งานวันวิสาขบูชาโลกในครั้งนี้จึงเปรียบได้กับหมุดหมายสำคัญที่ยืนยันว่า พระพุทธศาสนาไม่เพียงยังคงมีชีวิตอยู่ในโลกตะวันตก แต่ยังสามารถเป็นศูนย์รวมจิตใจของผู้คนในทวีปอเมริกาเหนือได้อย่างสง่างาม
งานครั้งนี้ได้รับเกียรติจากพระสงฆ์และแม่ชีในพระพุทธศาสนาจากหลากหลายประเทศที่มาร่วมงานอย่างพร้อมเพรียง เพื่อแสดงพลังแห่งศรัทธา ความเมตตา และปณิธานร่วมกันในการขับเคลื่อนสันติภาพโลก อีกทั้งยังมีบุคคลสำคัญจากนานาประเทศ อาทิ นักการทูต ผู้นำองค์กรระหว่างประเทศ และผู้แทนจากกลุ่มศาสนาต่าง ๆ ที่มาร่วมเป็นสักขีพยานและสนับสนุนภารกิจแห่งสันติภาพในครั้งนี้ พร้อมทั้งยังมีผู้แทนจากภาครัฐ ภาคเอกชน และสถาบันการศึกษาจำนวนมากจากทั้งในและต่างประเทศเข้าร่วมอย่างคับคั่ง สะท้อนถึงความตระหนักร่วมกันในบทบาทของพระพุทธศาสนาในการส่งเสริมความเข้าใจอันดีระหว่างวัฒนธรรมและศาสนาในเวทีโลก
ดร.อภินิตา ไชยชนะ ได้รับเกียรติให้กล่าวปาฐกถาในฐานะแขกพิเศษ และได้รับมอบรางวัล Humanitarian Award จากสภาสหพันธ์รักษาสันติภาพ (UNPKFC) แด่พระอาจารย์เชนโด๊ก รินโปเช เพื่อยกย่องในคุณูปการด้านมนุษยธรรม การส่งเสริมพระพุทธศาสนา และการสร้างสันติภาพในระดับสากล โดยมีพิธีมอบรางวัลอันทรงเกียรตินี้จัดขึ้นอย่างเป็นทางการภายในงาน ซึ่งถือเป็นการรับรองถึงความทุ่มเทอันต่อเนื่องของท่านในเวทีนานาชาติ

ช่วงเวลาแห่งความประทับใจในงานครั้งนี้ คือภาพของชาวพุทธจากหลากหลายเชื้อชาติที่มารวมตัวกันภายใต้เจตนารมณ์เดียวกัน ร่วมจุดแสงเทียนแห่งสันติธรรมท่ามกลางความหลากหลายอย่างสงบงดงาม งานนี้จึงมิใช่เพียงเทศกาลหนึ่งในปี แต่คือก้าวย่างสำคัญในการวางรากฐานให้ประเทศแคนาดาเป็นศูนย์รวมจิตวิญญาณของชาวพุทธในภูมิภาคอเมริกาเหนือ และแสดงให้เห็นว่า แม้จะต่างภาษาและวัฒนธรรม แต่หัวใจของพระพุทธศาสนาก็สามารถเชื่อมโยงผู้คนไว้ด้วยสัจธรรมเดียวกัน
