United Peace Keepers Federal Council (UNPKFC) Joins “Teej Festival 2025” to Strengthen Thailand–Nepal Relations

On August 24, 2025, the United Peace Keepers Federal Council (UNPKFC), led by Dr. Aphinita Chaichana, Global President of UNPKFC, had the honor of attending the Teej Festival 2025 as a distinguished VIP guest. The festival was organized by the Thai–Nepali Association (Thailand) and held at the Sakul Kusol Welfare Association in Khlong Toei, Bangkok.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Dr. Sunthorn Sunthornchat, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, on behalf of the Governor of Bangkok, together with the President of the Thai–Nepali Association (Thailand) and Thai–Nepali community partners, creating a warm atmosphere of friendship and cultural understanding between the two nations.

✨ Teej Festival is a deeply cherished tradition among Nepali women, celebrated annually during August–September, with unique highlights as follows:

👰 Married women observe fasting to seek blessings from Lord Shiva for their husbands’ health and longevity.

💍 Unmarried women participate to pray for a good and virtuous life partner.

💃 The three-day celebration features traditional songs, dances, and women dressed in bright red attire symbolizing good fortune.

Dr. Aphinita reflected on the significance of the occasion, stating:

“The Teej Festival is not only a celebration of religion and culture, but also a powerful symbol of women’s strength, equality, and the enduring friendship between the peoples of Thailand and Nepal. UNPKFC is honored to take part in this meaningful occasion.”

This event marks yet another milestone in fostering cultural diplomacy, as UNPKFC and the Thai–Nepali Association join hands to reaffirm their commitment to strengthening bilateral ties—paving the way for future collaboration in education, youth empowerment, and global peace.
