NEW DELHI, INDIA – Dr. Aphinita Chaichana, Global President of the United Peace Keepers Federal Council (UNPKFC), led the UNPKFC delegation to participate in the international celebration of “Buddha Jayanti 2570” in New Delhi, India, where she was honorably invited to serve as the Chief Guest of the event.
Joining the delegation were Miss Rangsima Thongpunchung, UNPKFC Country Director for Thailand, and Dr. Ravuri Balaraju, Country Director for UNPKFC India, who attended the celebration as a Special Guest alongside accompanying international representatives.
Organized by the Sangha Charitable Trust, the prestigious event brought together respected monastic leaders, humanitarian organizations, interfaith representatives, and participants from numerous countries to commemorate the Birth, Enlightenment, and Parinirvana of Lord Buddha while promoting peace, compassion, and intercultural harmony through the timeless teachings of Buddhism.
In her capacity as Chief Guest, Dr. Aphinita joined the international gathering in advancing the event’s shared vision of strengthening global peace through Buddhist wisdom, compassion, ethical values, and human unity.
The celebration featured international Buddhist chanting ceremonies, sacred offering rituals, spiritual dialogue sessions, cultural performances, and the symbolic “Peace Dhamma Walk,” which united participants from diverse nationalities, faiths, and cultural backgrounds in a shared commitment to peaceful coexistence and humanitarian values.
A significant highlight of the event was the “Peace Dhamma Walk,” a spiritual peace procession joined by monastic leaders, international delegates, and participants from various nations. Throughout the procession route, the delegation received a warm and heartfelt welcome from large gatherings of devotees and local communities lining both sides of the streets. The atmosphere was filled with reverence, unity, and shared faith, reflecting the profound spiritual connection between Buddhist communities and the universal aspiration for peace, compassion, and harmony among humanity.
During her keynote address at the opening ceremony, Dr. Aphinita emphasized the enduring relevance of Buddhist teachings in addressing today’s global challenges and fostering compassion, understanding, and sustainable peace across societies.
“Today’s world requires compassion more than division, and understanding more than fear. The teachings of Buddhism continue to inspire humanity toward peace, wisdom, and unity.”
Dr. Aphinita further emphasized that gatherings such as Buddha Jayanti should not remain solely symbolic celebrations or cultural collaborations, but must serve as a meaningful global Call to Action — encouraging individuals, communities, organizations, and leaders to collectively uphold compassion, ethical responsibility, peaceful coexistence, and humanitarian values in creating a more sustainable and harmonious future for humanity.
Dr. Aphinita also expressed sincere appreciation to Venerable Bhikkhu Animesh, whom she described as a cherished spiritual companion and longtime Dharma friend for more than 15 years, She acknowledged their shared commitment to promoting Buddhist values, humanitarian principles, and peacebuilding efforts through continuous international cooperation.
In addition, she extended heartfelt gratitude to the people of India and Buddhist communities for their warm hospitality and longstanding friendship, noting that India remains a deeply meaningful spiritual homeland connected to her humanitarian and peace mission.
