The candle will be used in the Royal Candle Offering Ceremony in celebration of Buddhist Lent (Khao Phansa) 2026, reaffirming the organization’s commitment to preserving Buddhism and safeguarding Thailand’s treasured cultural and religious heritage.

Buddhist Lent (Khao Phansa) is one of the most significant observances in the Buddhist calendar, marking the beginning of the three-month annual rains retreat during which Buddhist monks remain in their monasteries in accordance with the monastic discipline (Vinaya). During this sacred period, Buddhists throughout Thailand traditionally offer Buddhist candles, bathing robes, and other religious requisites to the monastic community as acts of devotion, merit-making, and the preservation of centuries-old Buddhist traditions.

The Royal Buddhist Candle received on this occasion is crafted from pure beeswax and exquisitely adorned with genuine gold, reflecting the remarkable craftsmanship of Thai artisans, profound devotion to Buddhism, and the enduring richness of Thailand’s cultural heritage. The candle will be respectfully presented during the Buddhist Lent Candle Offering Ceremony as a symbol of light, wisdom, auspiciousness, and the continued preservation of the Buddhist faith.

Following the official ceremony, members of the UNPKFC Executive Board and delegates visited the Chitralada Royal Project Shop, where they viewed and purchased products developed under the Royal Project. Through this visit, the delegation expressed its support for high-quality Thai products inspired by the Royal Initiative while helping promote sustainable development, self-reliance, and the creation of long-term social and economic value for the nation.

The participation of the United Peace Keepers Federal Council (UNPKFC) in this meaningful occasion reflects the organization’s enduring commitment to promoting Buddhism, preserving Thailand’s cultural heritage, supporting the continuation of cherished national traditions, and fostering a society founded upon morality, unity, compassion, and peace. These values are fully aligned with UNPKFC’s mission to advance sustainable social development and promote a global culture of peace at both the national and international levels.
